Why Kim K Gets It

Whether you love her or hate her, Kim Kardashian can rock a cotton midi dress. And you know what? She's on to something because they are comfy AF. I've been all about James Perse cotton dresses for years now (proof!) and I'm pretty pumped that the style is having a moment.

I bought this version at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale in two colors and have been wearing them non-stop. Honestly, it's the best day-to-night dress.

There are PLENTY of places (including F21) to find cotton midi dresses, but let me make a case for James Perse. The fabric is insanely soft and very good quality; they won't shrink or stretch (I've had this one since 2014!) I think of his dresses as closet staples that I can grab for any and every occasion which is why I don't mind paying the JP price. Additionally, most of JP's dresses have the ruching around the waist area that is ultra flattering but doesn't look cheap. They're great for travel, running errands, date night, beach days... ALL. THE. THINGS. Both Natalie and I brought two of them to Vegas this weekend!
