#TargetStyle: Modern + Classic Holiday Beauty

This post is sponsored by Target

When it comes to holiday beauty, I'm all about glam, no matter if it's modern or classic (as noted in last month's Target beauty post); there's always a little curl and a lot of glow. #justsaying. If you're all about the glam, then keep reading...

When I think of modern hair, it's all about the undone curl.  The undone curl is basically any type of curl that stops about 2 inches from the bottom of your hair. Girls with straight hair are lucky because they get the effect instantly when they curl their hair. If you happen to have curly hair then you may need to straighten your ends to achieve the undone curl look! To get the my modern, side swept hair all you need is a l 1/4 - inch curling iron (like this one from Conair):

1. make side part and pull all hair to one side
 2. using 1 1/4" barrel curling iron, start curling large pieces of hair toward your face; curling TOWARDS is the trick to getting a really glam look
3. after curling all hair use 2 -3 bobby pins on back to secure all hair to one side and you're done!

For the modern makeup, I started with my typical foundation and concealer, and then did the following:

1. contour + blush with Pixi Contour palette; contouring can be tough, so I suggest starting light and always adding more
2. using e.l.f.'s eyeshadow palette add gold shimmer shadow over the entire lid and inner eye
3. define eyes with Elf pencil liner and Rimmel mascara
4. for pinky-nude lip combine 3 colors: Pixi's unique pink + baby bare and Sonia Kashuk very berry

Nothing says classic beauty like a red lip! For this beauty look I did all of the base work as the modern makeup but added a winged liner and red lip to give it that va-va-voom vibe.

For classic hair:

 1. use both the large 1 1/4 -inch barrel as well as a 3/4-inch to loosely curl the entire head
2. part hair in center, pull to one side, and then secure with hair elastic
3. using bobby pins pin, curls up in to hair elastic to create a bun/pony tail situation; there's really no perfect method for this except to keep pinning and see how it falls!

Add a cape blazer and you're ready to go!
